God Knows Us Better Than We Know Ourselves

Light-of-Love-by-Holley-Gerth1

Dear GOD…

Do You hear me?

Yes, My child, I hear even the deepest groans of your heart that nobody else hears.

“I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His Word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” ~ Psalm 34:4 AMP

Do You see me?

Yes, My child, nothing escapes My notice. I see every tiny detail of your life. Even the depths of darkness cannot hide you from Me.

“The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.”
~ 2 Chronicles 16:9a

Do You know me?

Yes, My child, I have known you before you were conceived, even before the world began. I know you deeply and intimately, far more than anyone on earth could ever know you. I know you better than you even know yourself.

“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head.”
~ Psalm 139:1-5 NLT

Do You understand me?

Yes, My child, I recognize your needs, accept you just as you are, and empathize with you infinitely more than humanly possible. When no one else understands, remember I always do.

“For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.” ~ Hebrews 4:15 AMP

Do You care?

Yes, My child, I am alert to every tear that falls, even to the unshed ones heaving in your soul. I know every worry of your heart. I am concerned about you, I watch over you, and I desire your welfare even above My own.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.” ~ 1 Peter 5:7 NLT

Do You love me?

Yes, My child, I love you so much I gave My own life up for you. I love you unconditionally. No one can love you as deeply and perfectly as I do.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” ~ John 3:16

But God, can You use me?

Oh yes, My precious child, I can bring beauty out of your brokenness. In fact, because you understand what it is to be broken, I will use you even more to help others who are broken. I will breathe into you sufficient grace, love, and compassion.

“To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for His own glory.” ~ Isaiah 61:3 NLT

“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” ~ Ephesians 3:16-19 NLT

    • Thank you, Candace. I’m grateful you are encouraged. It’s a sweet comfort when His Word proves and confirms what we feel in our hearts. And even when we can’t feel it, God is faithful and true to the promises He gives. It encourages me to know how solid His Word is, because I can be so uncertain and fickle. Praying for the Spirit to further encourage our hearts! 💗

    • Thank you for your kind words, Ceil. Some of these questions often crossed my heart last week, so I decided intentionally to think of what our faithful and compassionate God would say and back it up with His promises. And God graciously lifted the gloom that was sinking me down. God bless you and give you His peace! 💝
