God’s Thoughts Toward Us Outnumber the Grains of Sand

Okay, my intention was to start blogging again today, but my mind and heart were so overwhelmed with anxiety and uncertainty lately. But after spending some time with God soaking in the peaceful sights and sounds of His creation this morning, I feel more grounded in Him who controls everything. So now my heart feels nudged to send you encouragement yet today.

Isn’t it amazing that God’s thoughts towards us outnumber the grains of sand? He promises His presence and He will provide for us even when we can’t see our way forward. We may feel uncertain about the way forward. Our steps may falter. We may stumble and fall. But He reaches out His hand and urges us to grasp His hand in ours and trust Him to lead us step by step. To trust that His thoughts towards us are precious and He is with us each and every moment, even in the times when we can’t “feel” His Presence.

I’d be lost and so confused
I wouldn’t last a day, I’d be afraid
Without You there to see me through…”

  2. Oh Trudy, I sure know what you mean about feeling so overwhelmed these days. “We may feel uncertain about the way forward. Our steps may falter. We may stumble and fall.” I cried reading those words because my own steps feel so shaky and unsure. But HE is so good to hold us and bring just the right help that we need. Thank you for sharing some of your precious energy here with us again. I am so glad to see your words again! Sending much love, hugs, and prayers for you! xoxo

  3. Welcome back, friend! You’ve been missed!

And what better way to write than right where you’re coming from, a bit anxious, a whole lot of grateful, bearing God’s beauty in your hands.

    Bless you!

  4. Welcome back, Trudy! It’s a sweet encouragement and joy to read your words again. I love your honesty and how you still ache to share and help others from wherever you are situated. I believe that God honours our intentions when they stem from a heart surrendered to Him. He also knows exactly what state we are in and how to speak reassurance to our anxious, fearful or uncertain souls. May God do just that for you, too, as you ease yourself back into blogging, all the while allowing Him to set the pace, to comfort, rest, refresh and fill you so you can continue to be a source of hope and refreshment for others. Blessings, love and welcome hugs! xoxo ❤

    • Thank you, Joy! Your thoughts and prayers mean so much. I so need to “allow Him to set the pace, to comfort, rest, refresh, and fill me.” I’m trying to allow myself more of the grace and compassion He so freely offers to us. I want to remember it’s okay if I miss a week here and there. Blessings, love, and hugs to you, too! God, please continue to speak Your reassurance into our anxious, fearful, and uncertain souls!

  5. “even when we can’t see our way forward”
This is exactly what my vision this morning of my life’s journey was trying to tell me.
I am standing on the precipice of something completely new and foreign, and I cannot see my way forward. And in the vision, that is how it manifested. When I tried to see what was in front of me on that vast expanse of land, a fog came in and covered the land.
I had to put complete trust in God.
I cannot see my way forward,
And I am ok with that now.
It’s been a long struggle for me as you well know, but I am so glad to be at this place where I am right now.
I am so amazed at the synchronicity that God brings into my life through you.
When I say that you are my earth angel, I really really mean that.
So many times God has spoken to me through you.
    I love you, Trudy.
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to God for you.
    Love,
    Shelley

    • Oh, Shelley, you bring tears to my eyes. Thank you for your kind and loving words. You are not only dear to me as my precious niece but as a friend who I can connect with so deeply. We can identify with each other’s pain. I always feel you understand me. My heart cries for what you have been through and the tough journey of healing you are still on. I thank God for you, too! You have been a blessing to me more than you know. God, we can’t see our way forward, but please help us to trust you, to grasp Your hand and allow You to lead us!

  6. Trudy … I’m so glad to see your words here today. I was just thinking this week that I needed to check in with you. With this post. I think you’ve given me an example of what to do when I am feeling overwhelmed by all the uncertainty … reach out to someone else with a word of encouragement. Thank you, my friend. Love and hugs to you …

    • Thank you, Lois. There is so much uncertainty, isn’t there? And so many who need encouragement. I’m thinking you may also be feeling the absence of Lilly in your home now, right? I’m sure it was hard to bring her to college. It must be hard for Molly not to have her big sister around, too. Love and hugs to you, too! God, please help us in all our uncertainty to keep our hearts fixed on You and Your unchanging, ever-faithful character!

I always need to hear this good news: “He promises His presence and He will provide for us even when we can’t see our way forward.” Hope you’re doing well, friend. We have both our granddaughters here for the weekend so we are happily distracted with living in the moment.
