“You are made in God’s image. Print that on your resume. You are a diamond, a rose, and a jewel, purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. In the eyes of God you are worth dying for. Would you let this truth define the way you see yourself?
Would you let this truth define the way you see other people? Every person you see was created by God to bear His image, and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. This means that all people deserve to be seen for who they are: image-bearers of God.” (Max Lucado)
We All Bleed the Same
by Mandisa with TobyMac and Kirk Franklin
“We are never going to find healing for our land by yelling and screaming at one another. We’re not gonna find it by fighting one another. The only way that we can do that is by coming together, by realizing that we may look different on the outside, but we all bleed the same on the inside. Let’s celebrate our differences, but let’s realize that the one thing that unites us and brings us together is the blood of Jesus.” – Mandisa
“We all bleed the same
We’re more beautiful when we come together
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why
We’re divided
Woke up today
Another headline
Another innocent life is taken
In the name of hatred
So hard to take (hey!)you
And if we think that it’s all good
Then we’re mistaken
‘Cause my heart is breaking (tell it, ‘Dis)
Are you left?
Are you right?
Pointing fingers, taking sides
When are we gonna realize?
We all bleed the same
We’re more beautiful when we come together
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why
We’re divided
If we’re gonna fight
Let’s fight for each other
If we’re gonna shout
Let love be the cry
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why
We’re divided…”
Yes, we all bleed the same, and Christ shed His precious blood that all people would be saved. May we treat everyone we meet with love, dignity and respect.
Blessings, Trudy!

Dear Trudy,
Thank you for sharing these precious thoughts and song. Yes, may our hearts be open to receive the love and grace Jesus has placed in each one of us! No one more special than another, we all need His love just the same. Amen. Blessings and love to you dear friend!

Yes, Bettie! The more open our hearts are to receive the love and grace Jesus gives, the more it will pour out of us to anyone we meet. I’m so glad He doesn’t have favorites. It reminds me of a St. Augustine quote – “He loves each one of us as if there were only one of us.” Blessings and love to you, too! May we see each person as Jesus sees them!

I love this song. And I love your message, Trudy. We ARE all image-bearers of God! So privileged that God allows each of us to show a little more of who he is. And if HE trusts us to do that, the least we can do is show respect to each other. Blessings to you, friend!

Thank you, Lisa. Yes! We are all image-bearers of God. I love how you word it – that we are “privileged that God allows each of us to show a little more of who he is.” Blessings to you, too! May His love flow freely from us to each person we meet!

Thanks for introducing me to a new song this week, Trudy! I like it, and it is such an important truth to remember – that each of us is made in God’s image and equally loved and valued by him.

I just found this song this summer, Lesley. Yes, it’s such an important truth to remember. I’m so grateful God loves us so, no matter how different we are from each other or how far we stray from Him. May we love like Jesus!

This song has been one that’s spoken to my heart over the past months. There’s so much truth in it. We need to look beyond the color of skin, even the differences of viewpoints and remember that we are ALL made in God’s image. Great words here,

So true, Jeanne, that we not only need to look beyond the color of our skin, but even past the differences of viewpoints. It’s so extremely sad that there’s so much division even among Christians. May we let love be the cry in our lives!

One of my favourite songs from Mandisa. It can be such a dark world and some people can be hard to love when they seem so different from ourselves. But they see us as different too, don’t they? And may be struggling to like us! Jesus command to love others as ourselves is simple in words, yet seems to be one that can be the hardest in our world where ‘I’m right and you are wrong’ can dominant. Thankfully, there is hope and even Mandisa’s song shows that hope!

Yes, thankfully there is hope, Lynn. What would we do without that in this dark world? Yes, that command to love can be so hard. May God give us grace to love!

“God created us ALL equal!” Amen! I get so tired of all the nonsense, too, Michele. It breaks my heart. As Mandisa sings, “We all bleed the same.” May God give us grace to look at people, no matter how different they are, through the eyes of our Creator and His love for each of us!
