I’m working on revamping this site, so I hope you’ll be patient with me. I’m trying to portray the vision for this site, that is, to provide hope, healing, and freedom to hurting souls. The new background indicates how the sunshine of Jesus’ healing love frees us to fly to His glory.
Each month I have been adding to the links at: Books, Hope Harbor, Nature Retreat, and Quotes. New links are marked with a pink heart ♥, but I will no longer do this. As of this month, I will announce new links here before I add them to their respective pages.
Books
The Forever Stone by Gloria Repp
“A young woman’s struggle with issues of domestic abuse, self-doubt and shame . . . a life-changing narrative of courage and faith that keeps the pages turning.” — Midwest Book Review
Grace in Africa Series by Kay Marshall Strom
Beginning in 1787 in West Africa, this is a riveting story of slavery and the fight for freedom:
- The Call of Zulina: Book One in Grace in Africa
- The Voyage of Promise: Grace in Africa Series #2
- The Triumph of Grace: Grace in Africa series #3
Hope Harbor
The Hope of Survivors – “Clergy sexual abuse and misconduct (including spiritual abuse) is wrong. It is the pastor’s (or any other person in the role of authority) responsibility to maintain appropriate boundaries. This site is for those who desire to receive true healing—spiritual, emotional and physical—from the devastation of clergy sexual abuse.”
Stones Cry – I added this link last month, but in case you missed it, I’m bringing attention to it here. Stones Cry is a survivor of the horrendous act of human trafficking. Her goals in writing this blog are:
- To bring glory to God for the healing He has done in my life so far.
- To connect on a heart level with other survivors and to bring validation and healing to them and to myself by sharing through authentic writing;
- To educate and encourage those who want to help trafficking survivors by hopefully providing helpful insight.
And in case you missed this excellent video:
Nature Retreat
Nature’s Place – Spectacular macro illustrated photos, mostly of insects
Photography by Walter Kitundu – Amazing wildlife photos, also access to more on old site
Beetles In the Bush – An agricultural entomologist with a special interest in beetles shares excellent photos and research
Quotes
“God doesn’t sweep the broken up into a dustpan and discard it. In order to reach the broken in our world, God Himself broke, allowing His own Son to die a broken death on a cross for us. God brings beauty in the broken. God loves the broken. God uses the broken.” ~ Elisa Morgan
“Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before, but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God.” ~ Ram Dass
“Nothing heals us like letting people know our scariest parts: When people listen to you cry and lament, and look at you with love, it’s like they are holding the baby of you.” ~ Anne Lamott
