Jesus Longs To Be With Us

Jesus-knocks

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person,
and they with Me.”
Revelations 3:20

A Child's TrustA Troubled Soul Cries

Lord Jesus, I hear Your voice,

I hear Your knock

at the door of my heart.

Why am I so afraid

to let You in?

Why do my emotions close up?

Why don’t I trust my heart to You?

Sometimes I let You in,

Then memories trigger and

deep pain wells up from within

and I triple-lock the door again.

The door to comfort and hope.

Why do I feel so unworthy

of Your love, Your attention?

I long to answer the door

to let You in.

Some people say it’s a choice,

but why do I feel so helpless,

so void of a choice,

like the hands of my heart

are so bound and will not move

to open that door to You?

My mouth says

“Come in, Lord!”

But my heart freezes.

Break me free

and renew my courage

each and every day

to let You in.

A Child's TrustJesus Longs To Be With Us

Yes, My precious child

I am knocking

Here I am!

Do you hear

the sincerity in My voice,

the compassion, the love?

My heart yearns for you

to let Me in.

I long to be with you.

I want to hold you

and comfort you.

You have been hurt deeply

and you’re so afraid

of being hurt again.

But you can trust Me.

I am not like them.

My love is pure and holy,

giving and not taking,

healing and not hurting.

Look through the peephole.

Do you see My hands?

Oh My child,

remember My blood

that was shed for you

to break you free

from any prison,

to bind up your wounds

ever deeper,

to make you worthy.

You are already free

in Me, My child.

Never forget

My plans are to prosper you,

never to harm you.

So do not fear,

for I am with you

and for you

forever and ever!

  1. Dear Trudy, this is truly moving. How much we need to hear and receive these words Jesus gave you:”My love is pure and holy, giving and not taking, healing and not hurting” when we are souls made wary by a painful past.

And then to learn to rest easy in this:”You are already free in Me, My child.” But the journey toward deeper trust, wholeness and healing is long and fraught with challenges that often seem to drown out His reassuring words.

May you and I and all who need to remember how much we are already made new in Christ, be enabled to trust again on our way toward a brighter future, discover how to hold on to His words and live in the light of them!

Blessings of rest and peace to you, sweet friend. You are pouring out your pain here and helping others heal in the open and honest sharing of your faith journey. Thank you. Xox ❤

Yes, may we together hang onto Jesus’ work and words! Praying for deeper healing for you! Hugs!

  3. These words are breathtaking, Trudy! I love seeing both sides, ours and His. SO much truth here, my friend. I truly get this: “I triple-lock the door again.” I do exactly that far too often. Thank you for this beautiful encouragement! Prayers for your continued healing and growing courage. XOXO!

  5. I love that song, Trudy. And your poetry speaks! I’m not sure why we are so reluctant at times to let Jesus in, but I know we do all experience it. Thanks for reminding us to unlock our padded doors.
