“What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins?
Yet God does not forget a single one of them.
And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable
to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”
Luke 12:6-7

(Lalala) not a field nor flower escapes His notice
Oh even the sparrow
Knows He holds tomorrow”

This month I have added another “P” Word:

“This is real love—not that we loved God,
but that He loved us and sent His Son
as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”

Books

I am not always able to keep up with the abundance of books that promote hope, healing, and freedom, so I haven’t always read every one I post here and on the Books Page. Though many are on my long wish list. 🙂 Many will be from recommendations of online friends. If you ever know of a book that is not listed and that supports this website’s mission, please let me know. 🙂

Love Embraced: A Journey In and Through Suffering by Anna Louise Smit

Love Embraced“Fear, Grief, PTSD and The Embrace of Love Not one of us is immune to suffering. So many of us have experienced loss, rejection, trauma and/or deep hurt. But often we decide to keep working, to keep going and to keep numbing that which we are terribly scared will break us into tiny little pieces. Love Embraced records the author’s own journey through such suffering, in: – caring for her mother dying of cancer – grieving her mother’s death – her diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and – working through repressed childhood memories. But, it also reveals how in starting to face that which she was too frightened to face, she began to embrace and be embraced by a mighty God into: – freedom – hope, – comfort, – peace, – strength and – deep joy.” (Amazon Review)

  1. All so lovely Trudy! And thank you for sharing that Jason Grey video. I hadn’t heard “Sparrows” and interestingly enough my main character in a novel I have started was watching the Sparrows in my last writing. I think I will adopt this song as the theme song for the story. God’s perfect timing.

  5. Wonderfully inspiring post, dear friend! Just looking at that swan calms my spirit, and the insect video was fascinating! I’m glad God made them so small. If they were big creatures, they would be truly terrifying, lol! Have a blessed week!

    1. Thank you, June. I’m so glad you were inspired and calmed in your spirit. I found that insect video fascinating, too. It’s so amazing how complex they are and how the Creator makes each one so unique. I agree if they would be big, they would be terrifying. 🙂 May we see ourselves also as uniquely created by our Creator with a special purpose no one else can fill! Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Candace. There are so many good books out there that I can’t keep up with them all! I love those rose quotes, too. They look at troubles in a whole new way, don’t they? May we remember thorns have roses and God can turn our ashes into beauty! Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Valerie. I’m glad these round-ups give you enjoyment. 🙂 It takes amazing grace to bloom in the midst of adversity, doesn’t it? I read something this week how the greater a woman’s suffering became, the tighter her grip on Jesus. May the love of Jesus help us to bloom in the midst of whatever troubles we may face! Hugs!

  9. Trudy,
What a great hope-filled list of resources! I was drawn to the article on Today’s Christian Woman. It is one of my heart messages. Even though we know the Truth of our value, we don’t seem to embrace it. I believe it is why we have so many environments of women being unkind to each other. And on the other hand, it also is the cause of being stuck in life. Accepting less than God’s best for us! The lack of confidence is at the core of so many of us! Thank you so much for sharing all this good with us at Moments of Hope!!
    Hugs,
    Lori

    1. Thank you, Lori. It’s so true that we know the Truth of our value, but we don’t always seem to embrace it. Yes, it certainly does make us stuck in life, doesn’t it? May we learn to embrace the identity we may have in Jesus! Hugs!
