Mama Duck’s Open Heart of Love
Mama Duck was so proud of her family. When her eggs hatched, a chicken egg was among them. Though this little one looked, acted, and sounded different than the rest, Mama treated him just as well as the rest of her brood.
I still think of that day many years ago… We stood in awe as Mama Duck and her family went for a swim in a pond we had constructed in the front yard on our acreage. Naturally, the little ducklings dipped in and swam with ease, but the little chick stood along the side and peeped. Mama floated alongside the little guy and let him hop on her back.

Such an amazing love lesson from one of God’s creatures! Mama Duck didnβt care that the little chick was so different in many ways. She just accepted him as he was with an open heart of love.
Do you ever feel neglected or rejected? Unloved? No matter how different we look on the outside, no matter who we are or where we were born, every single one of us was created in the image of God and each one of us matters to God. There is no one who is as open to loving us just as we are as He is.
No Partiality with God
βThat hand is not the color of yours, but if I prick it,
the blood will flow, and I shall feel pain.
The blood is of the same color as yours.
God made me, and I am a Man.”
~ Standing Bear (1829-1908)
βWe are never going to find healing for our land by yelling and screaming at one another. Weβre not gonna find it by fighting one another. The only way that we can do that is by coming together, by realizing that we may look different on the outside, but we all bleed the same on the inside. Letβs celebrate our differences, but letβs realize that the one thing that unites us and brings us together is the blood of Jesus.β ~ Mandisa

My husband and I love to walk at The Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. I took these photos when we enjoyed it in the beautiful fall weather we had last week. We love to sit and listen to the gurgle of the water as we soak in the beauty!

God remains the same faithful God in the midst
of this frighteningly changing world.

“Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.” ~ Psalm 36:5

How all these photos of yours and your brother cheered my heart and made me smile, Trudy! And we can all learn a powerful lesson from Mama Duck, can’t we? God’s lessons are everywhere when we take the time to see them all around us. Blessings, dear friend, and thank you again for the beautiful ecard you sent!

Blessings to you, too, my friend! You remain in my prayers that God will bless the treatments and completely wipe out the cancer and give you strength in body and spirit!

The mama duck story is so sweet! And reflects beautifully how we are called to accept and love. Love all the pictures you shared, and so glad you have a place to go to, sit, and listen to nature songs such as the “gurgle of water” from a waterfall. May the fall season be full of the wonders of His nature creations!
