When It’s Time To Rest in the Faithful Rhythms of God’s Love and Grace Within Us and Around Us

He who had the power to create this earth and all of us out of nothing is surely in control of what happened in the past, what is happening in the present moment, and what will happen in the future. We can never begin to fathom His understanding of each of us and what goes on in this world and our lives and what each of us needs to become more like Him.

I’m so grateful God NEVER gets weary of taking care of and nurturing this earth and all of us in it. Often something deep inside of me insists that I have to “fix” things. But God patiently reminds me He is in control and it’s not in my human hands but in His Almighty Hands. What’s impossible in our hands is infinitely possible in His. GOD is GOD, and we are not!

Rest, My precious child,
Rest in the unforced rhythms
Of My amazing grace
Don’t be so hard on yourself
You don’t need to whip yourself
When you can’t change what’s happening
In the lives around you
It’s not in your hands
It is all in My Hands
The same Hands that created
This whole earth and you
My love conquers all
My grace is sufficient
My wisdom is fathomless
I infinitely understand
What each of your loved ones needs
What each hurting soul in this world needs
Trust in Me fully and freely
Trust I am with you
Every step of the way
Trust I am with all who need Me
Let go of your distress
To “fix” hearts and lives
Let go of your anxiety and fear
Of what tomorrow will bring
Let go of your need
To have all your questions answered
Rest in the Truth
That I AM GOD
That I have all things under control
Trust Me and open your heart
To the many signs of
My everlasting Love
And My Almighty power
Within you and around you

“Rest My child.
You don’t have to run.
I am with you.
When the battle’s done,
when your strength is gone,
I’ll carry you.
In the darkest night,
I’ll stay with you.
You are not forgotten.
You are not alone.
I have never left you on your own.
Rest My child, let your weary heart believe.
The God who holds you will not leave.
The night is not forever. The morning will come.
You are still My
child.
You are still My
beloved one.
Rest now. Breathe again.
You are not alone. I am still here.”

By now you know how much nature soothes my soul and is one of the ways God uses to help me find rest in the weariness of life. Some people may cringe about some creatures, but I find the unique characteristics of each one fascinating. 🙂 Lately I am finding rest also in creating collages or other designs at Canva.

💚 Fascinating Photos From My Brother John 💚

Every time I look at this, I am awed!

Regal Horned Lizards have an interesting defense mechanism. They “are able to burst the blood vessels near their eyeballs to trigger a surprise spray. They aim the blood toward the predator’s mouth—it’s the bad taste that sends enemies running. Talk about an eye-popping surprise!” See this in action here!

  1. Your posts always touch my heart with joy and beauty and this was no exception, Trudy. John’s photos are absolutely outstanding, even if some of the creatures might not be ones we’d like to find along our paths. And your reflective poem on God’s love and care? Masterful!

Have a blessed month, my friend!

  2. Trudy, thanks for the reminder that God never wearies in calling us to rest, in holding us as we rest, in rejoicing over us and protecting us as we do so.

‘I am His and He is mine.’

  4. Dear Trudy, thank you for your beautiful poem and this encouraging post. Being a recovering fixer myself, I am so thankful that His ways are so much higher than mine! And of course I am always touched when you speak of our hands and His hands, so much stronger and more capable. And that sunset reflection–amazing!! Love and prayers dear friend. ❤️❤️❤️

  5. Trudy, every line of this post (including your lovely poem) is so full of truth. It’s comforting to remember that God “infinitely understand[s]” what each of our dear ones need, especially when we no idea what that might be. And I love your Canva collages ….I’m glad you are finding it restful to create with that program! Love and hugs to you, dear friend.
